How to make One Step Crocheted Rope

Usually when I want to make a rope in crochet, I use 2 steps as follow:

1 - Make ch (chain) for a certain amount as needed.
2 - and then turn back to make sl st (slip stitches) into each of the ch, start from the 2nd ch from hook till the last ch.

The result is as follow:

A friend of mine shared a video showing how to make crocheted rope in one way step, as you can see at the following link : One Step Crocheted Rope

I  tried to make the One Step Crocheted Rope and had tried to translate the video into few pictures showing the step by step how to make it as I understood.

I tried to use 2 different color of yarns, to make it easier to understand.
The green one as the 1st yarn and the blue one as 2nd one.

Begin with crochet both yarns together as the base chain, and then:

- *Yarn Under (YU) the 1st yarn - take the yarn in front of hook and then wrap around the hook to the back of it (there are 2 loops on hook except at the 1st ch). Please refer to the following images:

 - Next,YO (Yarn Over) the 2nd yarn - the position of 2nd yarn is below the hook and then wrap around the hook to the front of it. Please refer to the follow image:

- Pull the 2nd yarn through out both loops*:

Repeat ** for amount of ch or length of rope needed.

Below showing the result:
On one side of rope -  produces chains from the 2nd yarn only, while on the other side produces half of 1st yarn and half of 2nd yarn. Interesting right?
